  • Data to Care | Data-to-care (D2C) is an HIV prevention strategy which uses information to help people who have fallen out of HIV medical care get back into care. D2C re-links people living with HIV (PLWH) back into HIV medical care, as well as addressing barriers to receiving HIV care by connecting them to other support services.
  • Molecular HIV Surveillance | Molecular HIV Surveillance (MHS) is the routine collection of HIV genetic information by health departments from laboratories. This data helps to identify potential public health emergencies and monitor health conditions.
  • Overview of HIV/AIDS | Houston has the highest number of new HIV/AIDS cases in the state of Texas, with one out of every 200 local residents living with HIV. Additionally, in 2017 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported the Houston metropolitan statistical area (MSA) ranked 10th in the rate of new HIV diagnoses.
  • PrEP/PEP | PrEP, or Pre-exposure prophylaxis, is the use of antiretroviral medication by HIV-negative people to prevent getting HIV. PEP, or Post-exposure prophylaxis, is the use of antiretroviral medication by HIV-negative people to prevent getting HIV. It must be taken within 72 hours after HIV exposure.
  • Project PODER | Project PODER is a project that focuses on HIV prevention for the Hispanic/Latino community. The goal is to strengthen partnerships to increase access to bilingual (English/Spanish) HIV related services for the Latino community.
