BARC announces September pet adoptions

The Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC) will organize 11 pet adoption events throughout Houston in September. Visit an adoption site and encourage friends to stop by to adopt a pet.

Participants can choose to adopt a cat or a dog at the events. Adoptions are $27.50 and include spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip implant.

Dates, locations and times for the adoption events are:

  • Sept. 1 - Gessner Library, 2436 Gessner, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Sept. 5 - Wags 2 Whiskers, 3200 Carr Street (BARC), 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Sept. 8 - Ring Branch Library, 8835 Long Point, 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Sept. 9 - Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center, 6402 Market, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Sept. 12- Heights Library, 1302 Heights, 12 p.m.–3 p.m.
  • Sept. 13 - Wags 2 Whiskers, 3200 Carr Street (BARC), 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Sept. 19 - Wags 2 Whiskers, 3200 Carr Street (BARC), 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Sept. 19- Amalfi at Hermann Park, 3 Hermann Museum Circle Dr., 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Sept. 22 - Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center, 6402 Market, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Sept. 22 - Ring Branch Library, 8835 Long Point, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Sept. 26 - City Vista Apartments, 2221 W. Dallas, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
