Hours
The Houston Vital Statistics office will be closed in observance of Spring Holiday on Friday, April 3, 2026. Normal hours will resume on Monday, April 6 at 8:00 am.
In addition, The Houston Vital Statistics office will be closed on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, for mandatory staff training. Normal hours will resume on Thursday, April 16 at 8:00 am.
Monday - Thursday: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Walk-in customers must arrive by 3 p.m.
Friday – No Walk-in Customers. Funeral homes and same day online orders pick up ONLY: 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Lobby is closed on City of Houston holidays.

Multi-Service Centers
Our spacious centers provide a variety of services to Houstonians and are available for public and private events.
Health Centers
We provide patient services to meet the community’s present and future needs in family planning, immunizations, tuberculosis diagnosis, care for sexually transmitted diseases, and dental care.
Get Moving Houston Urban Gardens
The Get Moving Houston Urban Gardens provide hands-on experience in vegetable gardening and urban agriculture to community members and encourage the consumption of local fruits and vegetables.
Healthy Families Houston
We are a free, evidence-based, intensive, home visitation program. We focus on strengthening family bonds, improving healthy child growth and development, encouraging healthy birth spacing, decreasing child abuse and neglect, and linking clients to needed resources and services.
Nurse-Family Partnership
Nurse-Family Partnership is a health program that assists low-income women who are pregnant with their first child. Program participants are paired with a registered nurse who educates, helps you to develop useful skills and monitors your progress from pregnancy until the baby’s second birthday.
Dental Services
We offer comprehensive dental care to adults and children (starting at six months) and teach you how to maintain good oral health.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC safeguards the health of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating including breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care.
Immunizations
We protect Houston communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.
