Health Assessment Seeks Input from Acres Homes Residents

April 5, 2010

The Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) will conduct focus groups in Acres Homes during April to learn about community issues from residents and better plan health programs and activities.

The focus groups, a part of HDHHS’ seventh Assessment, Intervention and Mobilization (AIM) project, are set for Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Focus groups for adult residents will seek opinions and suggestions about community issues.

Groups for women 18 to 45 years of age will seek information about pregnancy issues.

Participants will receive a $10 gift card.

HDHHS uses AIM projects to evaluate and improve the ability of residents to manage their health and well-being. It also uses the AIM projects to help link residents to needed health or human services.
