Wags to Whiskers, a pet adoption event, will offer people an opportunity to adopt a dog or cat from the Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC), 3200 Carr, on Saturday, Sept. 5, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Spayed or neutered dogs and cats with required vaccinations and an implanted microchip are available for adoption through Wags to Whiskers, sponsored by BARC and Friends of BARC the second Sunday and third Saturday of each month.

Wags to Whiskers events offer visitors refreshments, hot dogs and veggie-dogs.  The Cooper Clinic will sponsor the Labor Day weekend edition of Wags to Whiskers.

Adoptions cost $27.50 per animal, half the everyday $55 fee. For more information, call BARC at 713-229-7300.
