HDHHS Conducting Rapid Community Health Assessment In Response To Growing Needs Due To Hurricane Ike
The Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) is conducting a rapid community health assessment to help link residents impacted by Hurricane Ike with health care and human services.
“A Rich Harvest,” an exhibition of art created by people with severe disabilities, will be on display at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, 1475 West Gray, from October 24 through December 31. Display hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
The City of Houston has activated its Heat Emergency Plan. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory expected to remain in effect for southeast Texas through Thursday, June 26. A heat advisory is issued when the heat index, a computation of the air temperature and humidity, reaches 108 degrees for two consecutive days.
