Breathe with Pride has a coalition team that works together to achieve the common goal of reducing tobacco use in the LGBTQIA+ community. Breathe with Pride is a Houston Health Department (HHD) program. The department works in partnership with the community to promote and protect the health and social well-being of Houstonians and the environment in which they live. HHD is a full-service health department that not only performs all core functions of a Public Health Department but also many enhanced functions including initiatives to address health inequities. HHD services benefit all Houston residents but the department also takes additional steps to support those most in need, such as low-income mothers and children, the elderly, and minority populations. Most HHD functions serve the 2.3 million residents of the City of Houston but the scope and impact extend into Harris County’s population of 4.7 million people through the department’s Area Aging on Aging, Bureau of Youth and Adolescent Health, Project Saving Smiles, See to Succeed, immunization strategies, syndromic surveillance and HIV-STD surveillance. Breathe with Pride had a FABULOUS time attending Pride Bingo Night at the Eurika Heights Taproom on 8/26/2024.
This event was a free event Hosted by Miss Gay Southwest America, Dessie Love-Blake and some awesome prizes were given away. Dessie Love-Blake also put on an AMAZING show for everyone!!

September 12th recognizes the National Day of Encouragement each year. This day is dedicated to uplifting people around us and making a positive impact.
#NationalDayOfEncouragementEncouragement is free. It never costs us anything to say a few words to inspire a student, coworker, or friend. Even a reassuring word to a stranger may make a difference in their lives.
Encouragement lifts someone when they are down. It also motivates a person who has an eye on a goal. When we have failed, the right words remind us to keep trying. The right message may create a spark that changes a loved one's perspective.
