    Clinic Services Notice

To ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and the safe delivery of care, children are not permitted in exam rooms during adult clinical visits. Clinical areas contain sharps, medications, and medical equipment that pose safety risks. Additionally, certain services involve sensitive examinations that require privacy and minimal distraction.

Patients who must bring a child are required to have another responsible adult present to supervise the child outside of the exam room. Health Center staff are not permitted to provide childcare or supervision. Failure to comply may result in the visit being delayed or rescheduled.

Texas Legislature recently passed Senate Bill 1188, relating to electronic health record requirements, which went into effect in Texas on September 1, 2025. It allows a minor's parent or guardian to obtain complete and unrestricted access to their minor's electronic health record (MyChart account) for their children from ages 0-17 immediately. Historically, OCHIN configured MyChart to allow the parent or guardian full access for children 0-11 years of age, then limited proxy access from ages 12-17.
