Houston Health Department --> On Tuesday, April 9th, the Houston Health Department hosted comprehensive training sessions on Implicit Bias Awareness and Mitigation, featuring Dr. Bryant Marks Sr. from the esteemed National Training Institute on Race and Equity (NTIRE). Dr. Marks, a renowned social psychologist and former appointee of President Barack Obama, is deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. With over 23 years of expertise in research, teaching, and training, Dr. Marks brings invaluable insights to the table. The session featured engaging content delivery, interactive exercises, and small-group dialogues. Compelling media aided in learning facilitation, while an overview of national data highlighted race and gender disparities. Participants engaged in discussions from various perspectives on implicit bias and completed personalized discussions through an implicit bias measure. The training drew participation from 120 frontline and management staff from various programs, underscoring the department's ongoing dedication to fostering equity and supporting diverse communities. --> Trusted Health Ambassador Program THAP Recruiting Ambassadors
